We’re pleased to bring you another DiscCast with a focus on the history of freestyle disc play. This time we sit down in Central Park (NYC) to discuss the late 70’s and early 80’s with Rob Fried and Roger Meier.
Alternatively, to access this episode and our back-catalogue of material, search ‘DiscCast’ on the iTunes Music Store. More info can also be found on our Facebook page.
It’s been a while but we are delighted to announce a new season of releases from DiscCast (the Frisbee Freestyle PodCast).
Over the coming weeks and months expect to hear from a range of freestyle experts, including some of the earliest people to grasp a disc in the 60’s and several of the greatest players to decorate the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s with their stunning skills. These PodCasts, as we explain at the beginning of this episode, replace the DiscCast Decade project that had been slated for release last year.
In this first release, John and Joe meet Dan ‘Stork’ Roddick to discuss the beginnings of freestyle disc play…
On a glorious summer evening in Cologne, the local freestylers (joined by John Coxhead from the UK) head out for a jam. As they play, Sacha Scherzinger pulls out of the bag what may well be a new move… not only this, he goes on to repeat it several times… see for yourself… (name suggestions welcome!)
If you have performed this move, or a similar one, or have seen somebody else pull it off, leave a comment!
The last in a series of Winter treats from the DiscCast team, we are proud to serve up an epic interview with new FPA Executive Director Lori Daniels. We chat to Lori about her long fascinating career, her recent flood of achievements, some upcoming plans and much more.
