Arthur, thanks for keeping all us unofrtuabte folks who can’t make it updated!
Are we correct in thinking the Prelims have been re-named Quaterfinals? And was there a round before this (which is now called prelims perhaps? rather than the ‘qualification’ round in Berlin & Amsterdam)?
Please wish everyone good luck and a send a huge Z from J&J
My pleasure J^2!
Yes, the names of the rounds were updated this year with the revisions to the Comp Manual. There was some confusion over Qualification and Pre-Qualification as separate rounds that didn’t sound that much different. So, we went with Finals, Semifinals, Quarterfinals, Preliminary, and Qualification as the five designations.
Yeah, it makes much more sense to have a quaterfinal round in there.
Photos are great by the way! Looks like a good flat surface and weather appears to be nice (allthough we’re struggling to gauge wind quality from the pics!).
Can’t wait for the Day 2 results!
The field is great. Well-groomed grass and plenty of room to run. The biggest challenge has been severe heat. Yesterday and today, we were fortunate to be able to play in the afternoon, when things start to cool down (from scorching hot to just extremely hot). Yesterday’s winds were mostly good, but they were a little shifty today.
The only thing missing from Day 1 was one of the world’s best AC where is AC?
Not competing? That is a loss for the worlds. Hey lighten up with the pics eh.
